pain and tingling after wisdom tooth removal

by Dennis
(Brooklyn NY)

I had my wisdom tooth removed #1 last Monday but after the numbness wore off that evening I experience no pain on that day but the pain came the next day it's been 3 days since the extraction and I have pain in the area my check the area where the dentist injected and the surrounding area sometimes I get a tingling on that side of the area on the outside is that normal?

Hi Dennis, I'm sorry you are having pain. It is not at all unusual to have some tenderness where the anesthetic was given. Tingling could also be related to the entire area healing. Both should gradually improve. You should call your dentist or surgeon if you don't notice improvement or if you have any concerns about your recovery.

Hope you feel better soon,
~Shelly
